A weaker person cannot swing as bat as hard, nor as quickly. A person that makes a living using a bat to take money from others will have absolutely no problem overpowering her, wacking her a good one on the head for even trying, and then leaving with the goods. If no one finds her quickly, she'll die. A weak, untrained person with a knife has even lower chances of success. But a weak person with basic gun skills will have no problem presenting a substantial threat to the robber. If there are two robbers, the gun is the only way she could combat both from the safety of a doorway or a corner. >Truth of the matter is guns kill more easily than any other weapon. Then there's the recovery of a bullet from >the body, etc. Knives and bats don't have quite the same complications. Knives open up blood vessels and seal none of them, which is not true for the bullet. A sword pretty much guarantees death. Many survive gun shots to the chest. -- Jason O'Rourke jor@best.com www.jor.com Last dive @ Lighthouse, Monterey. 26 min at 94ft max.
