Has it occurred to you that some people might not want the day off?
Many hourly employees do not get paid holidays, and that day off means
less income for food and bills. July 4th is only a holiday for
salaried employees and those in unions.

Have youo ever lived in a country where retail hours are regulated
by the government? Let me tell you it is hell. If you work, you
have to spend your lunch hour shopping because all the stores are
often closed by the time you get off or get home. If you need something
like cough syrup of a sunday you may have to drive 30 miles to a store
that has an exemption.

July 4th is the celebration of our freedom from tyrannical government.
At least in America we have the freedom to open or close our business
when WE want, and not when the government wants which is the standard
in most other countries.

If you wanted socialism, then we should have never suceeded from
the United Kingdom.
