Figures there'll be a wiseguy out there somewhere, right? Answer's gotta be South-Central: Media dumps on it, just like the Bronx (and how many media personnel actually live in either place?). Both places have serious problems, particularly in terms of redlining and lack of investment, but the Bronx is well connected by subways to the rest of the city, so lack of investment may not hurt it as much as it does South-Central; nor am I certain how far insurers and banks are permitted to redline in New York, so that too may be less of a problem than for South-Central. All in all, I'd say both places, while not to be mistaken for Eden, aren't the hellholes they're made out to be. Andy Katz Ps: Just in case anyone asks, the San Gabriel Valley subs nicely for Jersey. People from the East who drive down San Gabriel Blvd become momentarily disorientated, so certain are they that they're back in Jersey again. Then they become scared. _____________________________ So sophisticated is my Net presence that I now disdain sigs, ascii & even urls. amk@bway.net amk@texas.net Andrewk271@aol.com
