Well, it's that time o' year again.  Taxes.  The season to spend some 
of the old "copious free weekend time" hunched over a huge stack of 
poorly organized files and computer print-outs, punching calculator keys 
and educating the whole neighborhood on new and amusing ways to string
together profanity.  Either that or I can do what I did last year,
which was waste a lot of money paying someone to do them.

There has to be a better way, and I'm betting someone out there knows
about it.  Anybody used any good, solid, flexible tax preparation 
software for the last few years?  I'm interested in the following
information.

1.	Years use without audit or other major hassle.

2.	Price.

3.	Host hardware (PC, Mac, IBM 3090 :-), etc.).

4.	Prints IRS and Ca. State Franchise Board forms directly.

5.	Knows lots of deductions (all legal).

6.	Warns user of "audit flags" (those exception conditions 
	and limits they use to pick returns for audits).

7.	Ease and quickness of use.

8.	Some tax-accountant CPAs involved in writing it.

I'd appreciate any input.  I plan on starting my taxes on Feb. 2,
and would like to have the right software by then.
