What makes you think Europe wants Joe Bigot? You overrate your importance
to innovation. Look at what has remained a profitable technology sector
right through Bush's recession: biotechnology. If Bush and rest of the
moral majority Taliban succeed in shutting down gene research, do you
think that research will stop? It will continue to move to Europe (it
has already started) and it will pull companies and their payrolls with
them.

You're out of the loop here. Another American strong point is aviation
technology. Bush the Elder gave a big chunk of knowledge to Japan in
order to sell them fighters. And Europe has learned from building Airbuses.
If either further shore can offer aeronautic engineers a better deal
while Boeing goes out of business, where do you think they will go?
