World Renowned Journalist and Author Robert Fisk to Speak in Los
Angeles
NORTHRIDGE, CA --- Robert Fisk, world renowned author of several books
about the Middle East and foreign correspondent for one of the United
Kingdom's leading newspapers, The Independent , will speak at
California State University, Northridge (CSUN) about his latest book,
"The Great War for Civilisation." Fisk will discuss some of the
issues addressed in his book about contemporary conflicts in the Middle



East region and their historical roots. The lecture will take place at
the University Student Union's Grand Salon on Friday, December 15, 2006



at 7:30 p.m.
The event is co-hosted by the Armenian National Committee of
America-Western Region (ANCA-WR) and the United Human Rights Council
(UHRC), along with the CSUN Armenian Studies Program, the Armenian
Student Association, Alpha Epsilon Omega fraternity, and Alpha Gamma
Alpha sorority.
"Fisk's unique insight as someone on the ground with in-depth knowledge



of these conflicts makes him one of the most engaging speakers in the
field," noted Haig Hovsepian, Community Relations Director for the
ANCA-WR. "Fisk is known for speaking his mind and will undoubtedly
address difficult issues at the intersection of American and European
foreign policy and the various cultures and interests at play in the
Middle East."
Of particular interest to the Armenian American community, Fisk is one
of the world's best known journalists and has distinguished himself in
his effort to inform the world about the Armenian Genocide. In his
latest book, "The Great War for Civilisation," Fisk dedicates an
entire chapter to the Armenian Genocide, which he titles "The First
Holocaust." He provides the historical details of the genocide, reveals



interviews with survivors in Lebanon, and decries the Turkish and U.S.
governments' complicity in genocide denial today.
"The 20th century was one of great violence and repeatedly marked by
human rights abuses and genocide," commented Chris Yemenidjian, Chair
of the UHRC. "We look forward to Mr. Fisk's analysis of the root causes



of today's contemporary conflicts."
"Mr. Fisk provides a valuable voice for cultural awareness and human
rights," noted Terenig Topjian, President of the CSUN ASA. "As the
university is home to the sharing of ideas as well as the subsequent
growth and progress they inspire, we are proud to be co-hosting him at
CSUN."
The event will be preceded by a 7pm reception for the author at the
Grand Salon. Both the reception and the event are free and open to the
public. Seating is limited and the author will entertain questions
following his presentation. There will also be a book-signing
opportunity immediately following the lecture. Books will be available
for purchase at the event.
The ANCA is the largest and most influential Armenian American
grassroots political organization. Working in coordination with a
network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout the United
States and affiliated organizations around the world, the ANCA actively



advances the concerns of the Armenian-American community on a broad
range of issues.

By me, the true meaning of certain old phrases have been fully
manifested only in our own time.
For example, the ancient formula of the "Benevolent Despot" seems to
have been waiting for Fidel Castro to come along. Likewise the
Britishism of "Bloody Fool" for SonnaBush. For this week's Guest of
Honor in the region of Mounts Diablo & Tam, the tag "Sly Dog" comes to
mind.

Except for the price given in this example, that's the literal truth
and the Talking Heads for OPS or the Official Propaganda System alias
the Mainstream News Media or MNM do it every day.
Or else the Jew bosses there send them the way of Phil Donahue.


So by contrast we here behold the extreme value to the imperial system
of Mr.Robert Fisk, the proverbial one out of a thousand Establishment
Journalists who enjoys even among informed observers a marked degree of

credibility and prestige. Plus he long time lives there in the freshly
cratered Biblical Land, speaks the lingo and knows whereof he speaks.
Whether he speaks whereof he knows remains to be seen.


RF's title promises us that he's going to 'Point the Finger of Guilt'
at the parties responsible for the destruction of Iraq and the invasion

of Lebanon. I certainly hope to be present myself** to check out this
most interesting performance because 'twould be the first time for me
to see a chap eat his own Guilty Finger. Also, 'tis one of my own pet
phrases.


I refer hereby to RF's consistent stance in the period from the latter
stages of the Clinton Blockade of Iraq to SonnaBush's invasion thereof
in the Spring of 2003. RF repeatedly went out of his way to paint
President Saddam Hussein in the blackest possible colors, thus covering

the critical left flank for the JINSA*

imperialists in control of the White House*

alias ZOG or "Zionist Occupational Government". RF's persistence in
slamming Saddam while the latter's nation was under the most severe
attack struck me particularly because I had already years earlier
floated on the Usenet the sound bite: "compared to Bush, Clinton &
Sharon on the one hand Saddam
Hussein on the other looks like Mother Teresa"(1). Google's spotty
public archiving shows the earliest Usenet date for the appearance of
this comparison as 30 March 2002, although I believe first to have
uttered it there around 1996.


Mr.Fisk's posture of outraged condemnation of the besieged
Saddam when coupled with his failure to acknowledge the far greater
crimes of the high officials of his own hyperaggressive imperial system

gives us the picture of the Sly Dog wearing the most useful cloak of
Intrepid Investigator and Fearless Critic.


Duty Lerts will also have noticed that a few months ago RF indignantly
denied the false charges of a Jewpack in Australia which had shrilly
accused him of telling the truth about the 9/11 Stunt, to wit, that the

authors were Aerial Shaboom and Hank the K rather than Osama "Raghead"
Bin Laden in his faraway mountain cave.


The bald-headed bearded one with suspenders in the oak pew cupping his
old
ear to catch every precious word falling from the lips of the Famous
Writer.

I have a few free minutes before the Oakland event to comment on these
three points:


1.) Would the best approach be for Robert Fisk to join with Richard
Curtiss of the WASHINGTON REPORT ON MIDDLE EAST AFFAIRS in appealing to

President Mahmood Ahmadinejad of Iran to reverse the position of his
government, which strongly supported the puppet tribunal's death
sentence on Saddam? Should Ahmadinejad heed their at this point
entirely hypothetical suggestion, then all three of them could appeal
to other like minds -- such as Hugo Chavez, Evo Morales, Rigoberta
Menchu, Tun Mahathir Mohamad, General Vo Nguyen Giap, Nelson Mandela,
Desmond Tutu, John Le Carre, John Grisham, Mel Gibson, Jennifer
Harbury, Kathy Kelly, James Petras, Michael Collins Piper, Willie
Nelson, the Dixie Chicks-- thusly to address SonnaBush:


"Yo there, Pipsqueak! You're still a young man. We believe there's a
high probability that before too long
you will wind up behind bars on war crimes charges, along with a lot of

other people you know. So you mo' betta get your act together now to
push your clients in Iraq to spare the life of Saddam Hussein, 'cause
