Mayor Villaraigosa of Los Angeles has just launched a campaign to make
the city car-free within the near future.
Mayors of Las Vegas, Sacramento, Reno, San Francisco, and San Diego are
following suit.
For proof, read the AP article by Tom Molloy.

Recall movements for those majors are already underway (except San Diego). BTW, San Diego currently has NO mayor! Don't you read the papers, Joel, or do you just read those drivel websites that you constantly quote?

That is only if "Joel Jolley" is reporting the truth -- even SF would be up in arms if the mayor were THAT stupid!

Roger Hedgecock the now radio commentator refers to himself as a recovering lawyer. The most recent mayors need a lawyer. Dick Murphy's (the original resigning recent mayor) replacement was then found guilty of corruption and also resigned. THe funny thing being that Murphy actually received fewer votes in the election but managed to get the courts to invalidate 5000 of his opponents ballots. All this in a city that was once considered one of the nation's best run big cities that is until about the time they started building light rail (beyond the original trolley). Coincidence? I think not.

I hope that the Cook County Republicans get the goods on Daley and send him to Leavenworth and that he gets Mongo for a cellmate.

Is everyone suggesting that Chicago was poorly run under the original Mayor Daley? I have never even visited there (except to change trains or airplanes), but I was under the impression Chicago was well run in those days. I admit it depends on your perspective and particular circumstances. Merritt
