There is a real need for a newspaper in the North Hollywood area.  The LA 
Times and Daily News do not serve this area well, in terms of coverage, and 
any other publications are pretty much limited to narrow shopping areas such 
as Studio City or Toluca Lake, or to the arts, such as the NoHo News.  

What is needed, is a regular (once a week at least?) journal that covers news, 
politics, life, sports, education, leisure, the arts etc.  It should have the 
best damn arts section there is, since that is a big part of North Hollywood, 
BUT, it should do a bang up job on covering the latest news in the area, good 
and bad.

With 250,000 residents and thousands of businesses, there is a market, but its 
one that needs to be developed.  North Hollywood is a community undergoing a 
renaissance that has a lot of potential.  Now is the time to get in on the 
ground floor, when its hard, but at least cheap.

I do not have any money or any experience in the newspaper biz per se, but I 
am a businessman in the area and consider myself very creative.  I would like 
to put together a consortium of folks to do this.  I am not really interested 
in making any fast money off this, as I make a good living, but I do not want 
to go broke doing it.  I would hope to get some stock out of the deal, that in 
10 or so years, would represent an ownership in a very succesful company that 
I helped to build with my blood, sweat and tears.

Most importantly, I would like to see a community paper for this neighborhood, 
that needs one.  We need a way to get important information out to all our 
citizens, and a forum for their thoughts.
