SMD disks with VxWorks

Hi. I am running VxWorks 4.0.2 on a Heurikon HKV2FA board
in a 9U VME card cage. I'd like to get a local SMD disk for
this configuration (which means getting an SMD disk controller
and disk) but Wind River claims that rfDrive.c (the
driver for the Ciprico Rimfire 3200 line of controllers) is
difficult to get working right with different disk geometries.

Has anyone gotten rfDrive to work with either the Ciprico 3202,3230, or
3223 disk controller cards using a disk of not much less than 1GB?
I'm not committed to Ciprico, so has anyone gotten rfDrive to work
with any SMD controller card and disk?

Also, Wind River says that they are dropping support for SMD disks.
What do the users of SMD with VxWorks plan to do once this happens?

Thanks Much.
