Hullo again people

I have this ss10 here and its got 2 frame buffers, one appears to be a cg6
single width card and the other a double width that is a cg8.

I got the numbers from watching it boot sunos, it now however has linux
installed on it.

Anyway the problem is that when i have the cg8 in it starts up in black
and white, then just sits there, informs me that its booting linux, and
then does so, but with no further output to the screen but i can telnet in
and its up and fine? What gives? the cg8 is an unsupported card perhaps?

As for error messages i have a bunch of 'Jun 6 18:46:23 sparc modprobe:
can't locate module fb*' but i seem to have them in my classicX and it
works fine, I should laso mention that it seems pretty happy about the
cg6, no problems with that one at all

ta, till

cg8? that's a P4-bus 24-bit framebuffer... Are you *sure* it's a cg8? I
suspect if it's double-width, it will be one of the really old Sbus cg6
cards that took up two Sbus slots. You will probably find that the
double-width cg6's are not supported under newer versions of SunOS, and
may not be supported in Linux either.

Well, I'm fairly sure it can't be a cg8. Have a look at the board and tell
us the Sun part number...

Regards,

Craig.
