First read up on the kernel HOWTO:
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO.html

There is also a mini-HOWTO about getting a ZIP drive to work with Linux:
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/ZIP-Drive.html

These should get you in the right direction. There are alot of obtuse
and arcane settings in the kernel configuration. The only way you will
learn about which ones work and do not is to experiment (and read all of
the documentation). :)

BOOKMARK http://www.linuxdoc.org !!!!! it will save your life someday!
