Since you just installed, proably the easiest thing to do is reinstall from
scratch & make sure you install the "C Development" and "Networked
Workstation" packages from the RedHat install dialogs.  The dialog should
then probe for the card & ask for the IP addressing details.  I did it a few
times before I got it the way I wanted.  IMHO installing packages (esp.
major ones) is a pain in the arse.  Since you are still "fresh", just do it
again, paying close attention at the package selection screen.....
