Dear reader, In the 'system administrators guide' I read about crond and atd, two deamons that can periodically run a command. I would like to use those deamons to delete my temporary files. Now my questions are: 1. do i need both crond and atd? What are the differences? 2. which temporary files can be safely deleted by those deamons? I think the /tmp and /var/tmp files, but I also read something about files that only grow bigger that contain messages about who was login in where and system logs. 3. how do I configure crond and/or atd? Just configure the files in /etc? Write sort of a 'program.bat' file in ms-dos? much thanks in advance!
