Hi,

I seem to be having a problem with getting our public_html directories going
on Apachee 1.33 - Redhat 5.2, The Apachee server refuses to access any
public_html site, I have set everything up per the instructions and their is
no permission problems, it just says Not Found

The requested URL /~dallen/ was not found on this server.
when there is a Public_html directory. Anything I could try?

Thanks
David Allen

do you put it as Public_html or public_html, I believe it is case sensitive

Make sure the dirname is all lowercase. Also, chmod o+x /home/username
since RH5.2 doesn't do so by default.

Hmm... *frown*

Are you using a clean Redhat install? Maybe ~/public_html/index.html
is still missing or maybe it's not written in lowercase.

Other than that, I have no idea :(

Good luck,
Erwin

I had similar problems with this issue and worked it out after reading the
~userdir.mod page in apache docs and looking through the error log for
apache. I don't believe there is a quick fix, it is a matter of
"understanding" how it works, i found it quite complicated for a while there
:)

good luck

Matt
