The problem was that the installation procedure created an /etc/inittab itself, in order to do some first setup thinks like root passwd etc. The *real* /etc/inittab was located in /etc/inittab/another_backup_file. I simply moved /etc/inittab/another_backup_file to /etc/inittab and problem was solved. Greetzzz, mc303 -- Ing.
