AUUGWet 93 Announcement Darwin 18th February 1993 For the second time ever, we have decided to have a Northern Territory Wet season meeting of the Australian Open Systems User Group (AUUG). These wet season meetings are designed to complement the much larger AUUG dry season conferences which are held in Melbourne or Sydney. The conference will focus on areas of technical interest such as Distributed Systems and GIS applications as well as the usual AUUG material. It will be held in Darwin on the 18th of February 1993. * Call for papers Papers are solicited in all of the above areas. Presentation times are flexible but have traditionally been of the 20 minute talk and 10 minute question format. There is a $100 prize for the best student paper. * Conference facilities In addition to the usual excellent facilities in the North we can provide: o 1xPiper Cherokee PA32 for remote sensing. o 1xToyota Hilux 4WD for ground verification of the remote sensing data. o 1xGPS. o Various UNIX machines for demonstrating tools. Trips into the scrub may be organised for any brave visitors from the south or north. * Registration The cost will be $75 for normal people and $25 for poor full time students. This includes registration, morning/afternoon tea and lunch as well as a possible tee shirt. Please contact one of the organisers in the near future if you are coming so that we can work out numbers. (But we could remove it if you really want us to). I take it this means you will be giving a paper at AUUGWet93? -- Phil Maker pjm@cs.ntu.edu.au 089-4666666 School of I.T., N.T.
