hate bringing newsfeed begs into an open forum, but I'm trying to kill a couple of birds with the same stone. Verbatim is (was/will be?) a public access system in the Monroe area. Last summer I had to take it down because the cost of bringing feeds in Long distance was simply killing me, and I'm still trying to find a way to get it back up. NLU is struggling with its new Internet system, and although things looked promising into the spring, they seem to have become bogged down by the disk-use monster and chances for a feed from them doesn't look too promising for some time. A plausible alternative would be LATECH, which although not local, is a LOS call from a town local to Monroe -- which also happens to have an LSU agricultural extension. Y'all follwing me??? Just before NLU's Internet came online, I'd tried to contact the person in charge of the system over at Tech, but never got a reply, maybe he never saw the mail, maybe he'll see it here, or maybe someone will pass it along. The result could be the folks at the LSU extension in Calhoun could have access (which I doubt they do now), the people of Monroe and Ruston could have access to a public system, and everybody would live happily ever after, or at least until NLU finally gets its act together. So, folks at Tech... are you interested???? Folks at LSU, are you interested?
