SearchIt 1.0 is a search and retrieval product that allows users to
search online information banks maintained by a person's department,
group, and company, and his or her personal information files. With 
SearchIt 1.0, the computer will act as a personal assistant, much as a
paralegals research questions for lawyers today.

SearchIt determines which documents mention the search item the most and
displays those document titles first.  A click of the mouse, and you
can display any of the documents.

SearchIt directly increases productivity by increasing the speed 
with which users can manage and access information.


HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

SearchIt 1.0 requires:

                 SPARC architecture based CPU  (SCD 1.0)
                 Solaris 1.x or SunOS 4.1.X 
                 OpenWindows Version 3

SearchIt uses a floating network license, so the software isn't locked
to a specific workstation or user.  The number of RTUs licensed
determines the total number of users who can simultaneously run
SearchIt.  For example, if a customer purchases ten RTUs, then twenty
or more users may have access to SearchIt, but only ten can use it at
any one time.
