 I agree to that free speech should be encouraged on the net.The question is
how long should a certain half of the population (male) be constantly bashed
in general newsgroups.Another question is how long should racists or female
bashers be allowed to constantly bash a general newsgroup.They are all one and
the same.I think the free speech should be extended to everyone but to there
particular newsgroups.
 The other question is when the person doing the bashing posts is derided or
made fun of that is another part of free speech.And if the aforementioned
person than resorts to complaining to everyone's isp's because they do not
like having there views challenged or made fun of than have they also not
given up any right to being protected by so called free net speech.Once you
leave the veil of free speech for protection than others have the exact same
right to do the same as you have said.Also the effected group being bashed has
the right to band together to try to remove the disruptive force from the
newsgroup.This is to be expected and i would even assume with Canadians the
support of other groups who are not the target of the person.After all
Canadians are naturally nice and will speak up for injustices, they usually do
contrary to some peoples views.
 So what it comes down to is what and how long a certain group of the
population,men,women,or ethnic groups and such should have to put up with one
or two people constantly dumping on them in general news groups.If they did
this in "alt.hate men,women,or racist in the proper newsgroups than i or
anyone would have the choice of going or not going to those groups to
participate.
 My personal view on this is from the "male" point of view.I believe if it was
a male constantly posting articles like these to offend other races or women i
would of been stopped long ago.But male bashing has been in vogue for about 10
years now so it is defended.I do not believe women or other races are mean or
that i am any better than them.But it is easier to just say to ones self that
it is just men being put down again and ignore it and go along with your daily
business.This is not directed at you Sheila but society as a whole.I do not
think Barbara's posts are meant to inform people on the issues at all which
would be halfways acceptable at least, if you read her posts closely from an
objective viewpoint (or put yourself in a males shoes) they seem to be
designed for one purpose,to degrade men.Men may seem a little defensive about
it (and me to) but that is a sign of the times.Anyways gotta get phone.
