PSYCHOLOGY RESEARCH ASSISTANT - FRENCH SPEAKING


Job Description

Research assistant for Francophone psychology research project with human
participants. Duties include: general office work, library reference system
maintenance, word processing, library research, some translation (English to
French), inter-library loans, updating of computerized library reference
system, recruitment of participants, research and questionnaire design,
execution of research protocols, questionnaire scoring, data tabulation,
data analysis (SPSS), proofreading/editing manuscripts.

Ideal for a bright new B.A. or B.Sc. psychology graduate who did not go to
graduate school this year, but wants to apply for next year after getting
some additional psychology research experience.

Skills Needed

Major or Honours Bachelor's degree in psychology or related social science.
Written and spoken French must be excellent. Excellent mathematical,
literacy (both French and English), organizational and interpersonal skills.
Much of the research is conducted via the Internet, and a very high level of
computer literacy is vital. Good interpersonal and telephone skills are
necessary. Statistics course, Word, Excel, and other computer programs are
essential. Ability to function with minimal supervision. Home computer with
Internet access a requirement. Must have car and driver's license.

Hours and Remuneration

Full-time. Salary: $9-11/hour, depending on experience. Downtown location.
