If you get a bill from Detroit Edison, you may have noticed the section at the bottom where it lists your average daily electricity consumption (in Kwh per day, a strange unit for power). It also lists the percentage increase or decrease from the same period the previous year. You may want to disregard the percent change figure. Integer roundoff errors make it pretty much useless. For example, my latest bill lists it as 22%, but the correct figure is actually 28%. With arithmetic like that, I wonder how accurate their calculations are for arriving at the amount of money I owe them.
