The Army isn't at all nervous about this. The FreeNet machine is not
connected to any Army machines. They've said so in the local
newspapers. The problem is that a hacker broke through the FreeNet
security and just about destroyed it. This person knew what he needed to
delete to get the system to crash, and make it hard to recover. There
have been several stories in the Detroit Free Press on it. The folks at
the FreeNet admit to being lax on security because they didn't think
anyone would want to hack on a system that gives access to everybody.
Unfortunately, they didn't understand the psychology of hackers.
