I would like to find a recent list of Michnet phone numbers. I found

   nis.nsf.net:michnet/how.to.get.connected/michigan.nos

but the file hasn't been updated since May 1992. Surely there have been
some changes since then.

The way I get the list is to telnet to hermes.merit.edu (since as you
found, the anonymous ftp list isn't comprehensive.)

Procedure:

telnet hermes.merit.edu (if you're not already connected to MichNet)

At the Which Host? prompt, enter: help

When the menu appears, select option C, Access Information, then option B,
numbers by state (or pick another option to 'narrow down' the list.) The
listing by state includes all MichNet, SprintNet, Autonet, and Michigan
Bell Packet Switched Network numbers and is quite lengthy. It's usually
best to use the city option to find numbers for a specific city.

I'll also send the contents of this file to anyone via electronic mail by
request.

Thanks,

Jeff
