First signs of trouble

It looks like my first signs of trouble are showing up. What is happening is
I am feeding Plex-2 via Plex-1 and nothing is getting to the net from Plex-2
unless I use the :f: delimiter in the sys file entries. If I use the :f: and
not the :fL: I tend to feed back the half of news I'm NOT receiving from one
site to the other.

SHORT EXAMPLE: (plex-1 /usr/lib/news/sys)

#---------------------------------------------------------
# DESTROYER (U of M) Bryan Beecher, Plex-1's main feed
#---------------------------------------------------------
destroyer:\
	mi,to.destroyer/all:f:

#---------------------------------------------------------
# Plex-2 (Dave Parks), Ann Arbor, MI Plexus P/60 Feed
#---------------------------------------------------------
plex-2:\
	comp,misc,news,sci,alt,rec,soc,biz,pubnet,talk,usa,\
	mi,aa,gunk,umich,ann-arbor.misc,to.plex-2/all:f:

#---------------------------------------------------------
# IUNET (Ivars U.) Ann Arbor, MI Secondary Feed

Notice that Destroyer is feeding us mi* and Iunet is feeding us news*,
well... if I have the :f: delimiter set, Plex-1 will feed mi* plus local
stuff to Iunet and news* plus local stuff to Destroyer. Now imagine you have
a half feed coming from Iunet and half for Destroyer. If I use a :Lf: delimit-
er, NOTHING coming from Plex-2 (or any other system we feed) will make it
through to the net (but LOCAL postings on plex-1 will).

My major question here is (after three weeks of getting Plex-2 ready, my
head feels like mush), am I missing something here? There should be a way to
receive half feeds from two sites without feeding the half you DO receive from
one system to the system you DON'T receive that half from.

If you're running C news, see man(5) news. Three general ways to limit
upstream feeds follow.

You can do :fL2: to limit feeds to postings generated within 2 hops of plex-1;
in general, :fLn: limits feeds to postings generated within n hops of a
given site. Note that :fL2: means thats sites more than two hops from plex-1
whose sole upstream feed is plex-1 won't have their articles propagated.

Multiple sys lines:

destroyer:news/all:fL:
destroyer:mi/all:f:

Should feed locally generated news.* postings and any mi.* postings to
destroyer.

Exclusions:

destroyer/iunet:news,mi/all:fL:

feeds news.* and mi.* articles which didn't come through iunet to destroyer.

Once again, Ed comes to the rescue! ;) Thanks Ed. I guess it would help to
have a FULL set of c-news man pages online (but I don't)... This fixed us up
right nicely.

I did look through what we had on-line but they aee scetchy at best, Does
anyone know where I can get a full set of c-news man pages?
