I'm just back in from Canada (nice trip) and sent the meeting notice.
Haven't seen Joni yet, so don't know state of cookies. The meeting
notice was sent about an hour ago; a copy is appended.
By the by Mike, you volunteered to speak as the Pine Partisan at this
meeting. Get yer ducks in a row bwah....
======================================================================
SEMiSLUG/Usen*x Meeting: Thursday, November 12, 7:30PM, at the Industrial
Technology Institute. Directions at the bottom.
The November Meeting:
o We'll open with the Question Session and Welcome of New People.
o Steve Simmons will give a review of the LISA conference.
o For the main event -- Mail Wars!
After the somewhat heated discussion of mail reading software
last month, we decided to put the thing on the agenda and go at
it hammer and tongs. A good time is threatened for all. Partisans
of elm, pine, and mh have been found. Volunteers are sought for
xmh and anything else you care to name. Pseudo-moderation will
be done by yours truely, the pseudo-moderator (who is also a
partisan, nyah nyah nyah). No blow too low, no fact too obscure,
no feature too obtuse.
o Last will be followed by the Answer Session and the usual Rumors
and Innuendo.
Future Meetings:
Looks like we'll have Sun on new products in December and DEC (tentative)
with an Alpha demo in January.
Topics being worked on include a reprise and expansion of the Iterated
Systems fractal stuff, Hewlett-Packard, transputers, a custom microprocesor
talk and security.
Topics suggestions and contacts are always welcome.

Directions:
ITI is at the corner of Hubbard and Huron Parkway in Ann Arbor. From
the Plymouth Road exit of US-23 you go west two lights to Huron, then
turn south. The first light is Hubbard. Turn left onto Hubbard. The
first entrance on your left is the driveway.
Plymouth Road exit is north of the 23/I-94 intersection, and south of
the 23/M-14 intersection. If you come by I-94, go north on 23. If you
come by M-14, go south on 23.
Cookies and pop, plus the usual post-meeting at Washington St. Station.
Steve

Umm, well, umm.. uhh, well, ya see, I'm sorta knee deep in installing UNIX on netmeg, and uh well, gee, doesn't look like I'll make next month's meeting on account of going to Chicago to visit Chinet HQ, so, like, well, I think it'll be a little while... -- Meg Geddes <No admitted affiliation with anything> Ann Arbor, MI meg@netmeg.ann-arbor.mi.us
