Applied Computer Solutions, Inc. is a midsize company located in St. Clair 
Shores, Michigan.  ACS develops and markets software for analyzing and
improving manufacturing systems.  Our primary software product, VSA, performs 
tolerance analysis.  ACS also offers consulting services based on its software
products.

ACS is looking for a Systems Administrator for its 12 person Software
Development Group.  This person will:

1.	Provide computer services support for SDG focusing on the SUN 
	development environment, interfacing with other platforms for 
	consistency and stability of computing environment.
2.	Specify requirements for new acquisitions.
3.	Setup new systems, install software, establish network connections, 
	user accounts, security provisions.
4.	Perform system backups.
5.	Maintain record of all hardware and software support agreements.
6.	Install system and third party software and configure.
7.	Trouble shoot system and network problems.
8.	Train personnel in care and use of various systems.
9.	Monitor system usage, adjusting for optimal performance and 
	consumption.  Eliminate unnecessary overhead and advise of bottlenecks 
	and capacity problems.
10.	Continually strive to simplify system activities to hide system quirks 
	and make things more consistent.
11.	Package and test ACS software for distribution on the SUN.
12.	Create system specific programs for ACS software (i.e. configuration 
	and installation).
13.	Document all system specific information regarding ACS software.
14.	Provide customer support on ACS SUN products.


The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

1.	Computer science degree with 2-5 years experience in supporting 
	computing systems and developing software.
2.	Through knowledge of UNIX, SUN SPARC and TCP/IP, NFS, Ethernet 
	networking. 
3.	Familiar with prominent workstations.
4.	Proficient in C and Fortran programming.
5.	Able to use standard programming tools (i.e. debuggers, editors, etc.).
6.	Attention to detail.
7.	Ability to work individually or as a team member in defining and 
	executing projects to a quality and timely solution.
8.	Cooperative spirit.
