reconnecting to database via ADO

I would like to create an ADO recordset (_Recordset) from a database
without doing a query.  I just want to copy the table and field
definitions into the recordset and leave it empty.

Is this possible?

Also, I'd like to later reconnect to the database and add any rows
that may have been added to the disconnected recordset into the
actual database.

Any help would be appreciated.
