Regional settings and number format problems

We have a SQL server database running on NT4, and a C++Builder program
accessing it via ODBC.

If the ODBC connection is set to 'Use regional settings when outputting
currency...' then the number output from the program is wrong.

Any numbers > 3 digits (the regional setting for grouping numbers) are
truncated in the data received by the program, so presumably it is ODBC.

I suspect that the processing sees "1,000" and stops at the "," as it isn't
numeric.

Changing the grouping to 0 digits or clearing the 'Use regional' flag fix
the problem.

Is there a fix for this? It allows users to corrupt the data, and the
program has no control over what it receives.

Thanks for any help.
