|
| Yes, there's no more ESS anything in Device Manager.
| I meant I'll keep searching.

So, ESS is gone. But you still are unable to fully install SB Live!?

|
| Yes, I have licenses for other Adobe apps.
|

OK, I guess they are OK and wouldn't worry about DrWatson on Adobe.

|
| I have no idea. This seems hard to investigate.

It should be SFC that finds the error, but that is tough to use, especially if it's never been primed.

| |
| | There used to be problems but I was finally able to
| | get rid of the error and warning flags somehow.
| | It's a long story involving many reinstalls, booting into Safe Mode,
| | selectively editing the (Enum key in the) registry, etc.
| | But, the Device Manager tab looks very clean now.
|
| > Excellent. Some day I'd like to hear it.
|
| The only part that may be interesting is the selective editing of
| the registry. All I did was export the key:
| HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum
| and looked for anything to do with ESS.
| Then, went into the registry and removed that
| subkey. I think that's how I was finally able to
| get rid of ESS from the Device Manager list.
|
| And then, uninstalling via ESS's "setup.exe" program
| (even though it may have been a newer version)
| probably got rid of the actual files also.

Not to mention "Disable in this hardware profile"?
OK, concentrate on SB Live!, so you can get sound back.
