Dear Netters,


I am interested in buying a HiFi VCR. My only requirements is that it be reliable
have a good picture quality and a HiFi sound. Long play and 4 heads and 10 year
timer recording are not high on my list of priorities. Also I do not need a
barcode reader or other fabulous goodies.
I will ultimately have a surround sound setup. My TV is an  NEC 63 cm with twin
speakers. The TV has an audio in.
I will play the audio part thru a Denon amp and Mission speakers.

In the near future I will get a pro-logic surround sound decoder with a built in 
rear channel amp like one sold by Marantz. I will then use the audio in on the TV 
utilize its speakers as the centre dialog channel. This would complete my budget
surround sound till the time that I can spend $2500 on a real system.


Please send me the VCR info and advise me on the practicality/advisability of my
other plans.
