Wrong.
You maximize your credit score if you charge
between 10-30% of your outstanding credit.
Too little credit use can be as big as a minus as
too much.

To maintain this number your credit line should be
no more than 5-10 times your average monthly
chargeable expenses.  And you should pay off
your total balance each month at least ten days before
the due date to avoid any interest or penalties.

All kinds of non-credit places now look at your
credit score such insurance, utilities and job hiring.
There are also many things you really cant do easily in pure
cash any more such as traveling by air, hotel and rental car.
