I seem to recall California de-criminalising parking tickets in the mid-90s, thus removing the right to a court hearing. As far I know, the Los Angeles dispute process was simplified to them sending you a photocopy of the original ticket as, "proof" that it was legit. Also, the fraud can happen long after the sleazebag first obtained your Drivers Licence info. Like maybe a couple of years later, after you have moved a substantial distance away from the city that thinks the ticket was yours. > >> We ignored it, of course. As I said before, a delinquency notice may be mailed to the car's registered owner, who must either pay the ticket, or give the name and Driver Licence number of whoever else had possession of the car. -- Want Freebies? http://www.TheFreeStuffList.com/ Check The Free Stuff List
