Of course this man should have been convicted. And it is also very gratifying that the jurors felt betrayed enough that they felt the need to write letters of apology. This is the best outcome that could be hoped for, since it drives yet another nail in the coffin of the public's trust in government, the courts, and law enforcement. The cops in NY have been valiantly doing their part in this campaign, with honorable mentions going to LAPD and the Cookeville TN police department as well. I, personally, can't wait for the day when *everybody* knows that cops and the courts are corrupt abusers of the citizenry. Currently, only those of us who are direct victims know this well, plus a few people who are willing to open their eyes to see it, but soon all will know. For that day to come, I hope and pray. And I thank men such as the judge and prosecuter in this case who, by making fools of the jury and then letting them realize they'd been made fools of, contributed materially to the arrival of that day. -B
