I had a similar problem with Hydro one. We went on holiday in the winter for five weeks and I had switched off most of the hydro in our home... So I thought I would have less hydro usage when we returned back from vacation. We are on a monthly payment basis with Hydro One.. My actual bill when I returned was higher than all the other monthly bills... I called Hydro one and they told me it was an update on the years usage.... Still I have trouble trying to figure it out and I still think I was ripped off on the bill. I did ask Hydro one why they won't let the man or woman that reads the meter . leave me a duplicate copy of the meter usage when they do come to read the meter.... (like time .date, name of reader and actual kilowatt usage.) We all receive receipts when we purchase products, Hydro one should also be made to leave a record of the meter readings in our mailbox or slipped on or under the front door of our homes... At least I could double check on their numbers. To see if they are correct. Now I have started to do my own readings and I keep the kilowatt meter readings and dates when they were taken.. If they try to screw me again I will take the them to small claims court... cheers jb :-) On Thu, 28 Mar 2002 17:49:59 GMT, "Arpad Polan" <apolan@rogers.com> wrote: >hello, it appears that you were in town when they replaced the meter, so if >Hydro made a mistake while replacing it, they can't claim that you were not >available and they had to act without your knowledge.
