Charlie: In the US, junkfax is illegal. Complain to the FCC about it. In Canada, junkfax is legal, but you have a right to have your name removed according to CRTC regulation 10-94. In this regulation, once you have asked to be removed from the list, they have 30 days to remove your phone number. If they call you again after that, for the next 3 (THREE) years. Punishment is disconnection of phone service. Complain to your local phone company. If they won't take a complaint, send it to the CRTC along with a second complaint about the phone company refusing to take the complaint. If you have the guts, the gusto, and th money, there is another solution. If you have their fax number, why not send them a fax. If you are using a computer for your faxing, look for a long DOC file full of empty returns, 200 pages or so should do, and send them that, with the first page being your request to get off the list. If you are using a fax machine, get 10 pages of paper, write your note on the first page. Take the other 9 sheets and tape them together, bottom to top. Feed it through the fax machine. As soon as enough is out the far end, tape it to the end of the long sheet, and voila, a loop. Faxing it blank with off course take little time. On their floor will be an entire roll of paper from their fax machine. If you have an e-mail address, there are a number of things you can do, but that's another story. -- This is a POSTMASTER account. As such, UCE/SPAM is unacceptable. The reading of a UCE (Unsolicited Commercial E-mail) costs the sender C$50 per item prepaid [VISA and MC are accepted] Jurisdiction for all actions will be in the province of Quebec under the laws of Quebec. Sending UCE will confirm your acceptance of these terms. I reserve the right to publicy post e-mail replies.
