The contrails are there at -20F (pretty much anytime it's below 0F), but like an aircraft they (visible part) start outside the tail pipe. If the air is colder than the dewpoint of the exhaust there *must* be condensation. ...only half kidding about the second (-30F). The car usually doesn't run, so no contrails. ;-) -- Keith
