Ya kinda wonder whether there is collusion between the automakers and the aftermarket muffler industry in that they seem unable to make one that lasts the life of the car, not even stainless steel ones. It's not something that has mechanical wear like various other parts nor has chemistry like the battery that has a finite life. It will last as long as the structure has integrity. Yet we can't make one that lasts, say, 150,000 miles at a feasible cost?
