As I stated previously I don't necessarily think it's a bad policy it's just that I had no prior knowledge of it. I didn't expect to walk out currency in hand since I didn't have a receipt; I figured they'd put some value on a card. Or worst case they'd say no and I'd be emailing my brother that I needed the receipt. The latter has in fact happened but I would've expected to still have possession of my property while awaiting the receipt in the mail.
