It didn't say anything about having carbon monoxide in the packaging. That same evening we ran across an item about them extending the shelf life of beef with it and preservatives. We ate it anyway the next day or so or rather took a bite of it. It was horrible, unlike any beef we have ever chosen to eat before and obviously not fresh. It looked like it was packaged the same day though. There was no expiration date. My daughter bought a roast a while back from them it was horrible.
