Remember how, not so long ago, American companies were discouraged from
doing business with South Africa, and politically correct folks boycotted
any company that did sell to South Africa, due to the repressive
government's human rights situation?
Well, tonight on the news, I saw that Benetton, the company whose duds
all the politically correct clotheshorses go for, is new establishing
stores in Cuba. I think they said there were eight locations.
Once this becomes known, I wonder if their employees will dare to show up
at their Miami stores? Especially those in Cuban neighborhoods!
Considering that Castro's human rights record is at least as bad as South
Africa's was (not that it is now any better under Mandela, whose
government massacres tribesmen with impunity), I think there should be a
boycott of Benetton by all freedom-loving Americans.
Yes, BOYCOTT BENETTON! By their presence in Cuba, they are using your
money (profits from your purchase of their overpriced merchandise in the
US) to support Fidel Castro and perpetuate his human rights abuses!
If you want a good sweater, go to Wal-Mart. They sell as much
American-made merchandise as they can! And it's probably cheaper, too!
On the news, they also said that Benetton's office is is a building
Castro seized from Bacardi. But they're not worried about Castro seizing
their property. Of course not! If you've seen ANY Benetton advertising,
you'll remember that their political slant is somewhere far to the
left of Teddy Kennedy. (Please note that ANY political message AT ALL is
very unusual in ads for consumer goods!)
Boycott Benetton!
