Hello,

My name is Craig Pearson. I'm a reporter with _Express_ magazine,
the weekly arts publication of the Windsor Star, in Windsor, Canada.

I'm asking people for their philosophical musings on Christmas --
preferably in the age of cyber travel -- for our Dec. 22 edition, for a
story called "An Internet Christmas".

Please include your name, occupation, and what city you're in.
Include your mailing address and I will send you a copy in the event
your contribution is included.

Please send all replies by e-mail to pearson@uwindsor.ca. And a
merry Christmas to all.

Craig, you ask for replies instead of followups, and you offer
to use snail mail instead of real email. In cyberspace these
two are considered rude. You make us feel as we you were trying
exploit us, while carefully avoiding joining us.

(I'm a computerist who's helped make the Net what it is over the
	past 13 years.)

Nothing personal, just a pointer for those who need Christmas to feel
compassion and generosity --

So, there you have it. Do what's right for you.

I don't know about everyone else, but the word "Cyber" conjures up
a picture of pointdexter... <Assuming whiny nerdish voice> Cyyber space!

Yesterday I quoted someone who quoted someone who said:

Well, it was a spam scam. Untrue. Please disregard ... To wit:

Despite that, the net is still relatively humble.
