I have one Spectrum Envoy II Upgradeable Modem for sale.
I brought 2 of these since I was going to have one running
on my windows system, and the other on a Linux system,
however I have talked with the company and found out that
they ONLY have Windows support for it. This modem is a DSP
modem which means that there is software that actually runs
the 'modem'. The software is written for windows however.
The upgrade to the software is supposed to be ready soon,
this will enable to modem to be kicked up to 28.8 baud.
The stats on the modem are as follows:

14.4kbps (V.32bis) data modem (upgradeable to 28.8)
14 bit sound card (supports MIDI, .WAV etc.,)
14.4kbps (V.17) group 3 Fax Modem
Hayes AT command support
V.42 error correction, V.42bis Data Compression
MNP 1-5 Data Compression/Error Correction
14 bit sound card (supports MIDI, .WAV etc.,)
Supports multiple voice mailboxes (1000)
Supports Caller ID
Remote message retrieval
Full support for Centrex features
SpeakerPhone
Call Logging
Address book linked to contact manager
Fax/Voice/Modem discrimination

This package comes with Fax software, Modem software,
sound (editting, playing) software, and Octus PTA
communications software. It is a nice package (IBM
does a similar modem, they both use the same DSP technology).
I have an add from MicroSystems Warehouse where they list the
OCTuS communications software (stand alone, no modem etc.,)
at $289.95. The tech support for the modem says that the
only difference between the stand alone copy and their's is
that their copy is specialized for the Envoy II modem.

Their is a lot that this modem can do, the package that I want
to sell is still sealed. The only drawbacks that I can think
of for the card is that the sound card is mono, but it's still
nice to be able to have more than 1 app using sound (since this
STILL lets you use the soundcard features with your existing card).
Also the speakerphone is half-duplex, I've heard this was a
'standard' with the earlier software etc.,

I'm not going to be able to use this modem since they don't have
and don't plan any support other than Windows, so I would prefer
to at least sell it and use the money to keep working on getting
my 'spare' system equipped (especially memory).

I am asking $100 for the package, if interested please email me at:
nowlola@elof.iit.edu
with a subject of Modem or something along those lines. I am willing
to work out details on shipping etc., etc., If anyone is interested
please feel free to ask me anything about the package (I'm still using
my original package right now, 8^) ).

Thanks,
