My father is legally blind due to diabetes-induced macular
degeneration, and until recently he had been using a small,
hand-held magnifier (w/ light) to read the newspaper.
Unfortunately, this magnifier is no longer sufficient, so he is
looking for something more powerful.

Could any of you please help direct me to either a specific product
that you recommend, or else to a helpful, reliable dealer of such
products?  He is 81 and has no computer, so what is probably
required is a very powerful magnifier with a strong light
attached.  Thank you very much for any references.  I don't often
get on UseNet or misc.handicap, so please respond by e-mail to
