Index Number: 26411 I need a little help. My girlfriend, who is blind, uses an IBM with Vocal-Eyes and a Sounding Board for her computer needs. I use a very similar IBM but without either the speech software or the board, since I am sighted. I'm currently in the market for a new sound board. My old Adlib has gone the way of the dodo and I'm looking for something a bit more advanced. I'm currently looking at some of the 16-bit sound cards available that are supposedly both Soundblaster and Adlib compatible. My problem: Some of these sound cards advertise that they are capable of speech. It would be a big help if I could buy a sound card that could run a program like Vocal-Eyes, since then my girlfriend would have no problems using my computer. Does anybody know whether there are any plans to make Vocal-Eyes, or one of the other major speech programs, compatible with some of these more common sound boards? - C
