niepornt@phoenix.Princeton.EDU (David Marc Nieporent) asks: "Hispanic" barbarians, huh? Why the quotation marks around Hispanic? With characteristic megalomania Mr. Schmidling claims: Because it a meaningless, Madison Avenue word. To give it meaning, I created Hispania. Assuming that Mr. Schmidling means that he coined the word and not that he created the territory, this is still quite an amazing achievement! According to _Webster's New World Dictionary of the American Language_: Hispania, n. [Poetic], Spain: the Latin name. --Hispanic, adj. Which makes Mr. Schmidling older than Julius Caesar! Is it any wonder he behaves like such a senile old fart given his extreme age? As usual, the only meaningless words here are Mr. Schmidling's facts and arguments, and they are not even up to Madison Avenue's low standards.
