I agree. In fact, it was the largest crowd for a rally that
I've seen on the Mall since I began attending them in '89.
The total "throughput" to the rally may have been higher than
the 287,000 I estimated, or the 400,000 stated by the Park
Police, but it's the assembled mass that is the whole point
of such a demonstrations, and that's what I try to count.

What's more amazing, these demonstrators were actually
standing quietly and paying attention to the speaker!
The crowd at a typical Mall rally does a great deal of
milling around and showing placards for causes peripherally
related to the main event.
