Mmm. Your list was, I hope, a satire. The Treaty of Versailles and the
treatment of the German people at the end of the first world war comes
to my mind also. That Treaty, for those who haven't been swatting their
history lately (and if not - why not?) was very much like this list and
is often attributed as one of the historical foundations of the second
world war.

History will, I have no doubt, write current events as the third world
folly of this century. But please, let us at least learn something so
that we can avoid an equally rapid repetition.
