     Therefore:

The Claims put forward by Greece that the ancient Macedonians
were Greeks, that their native language was Greek, and that
Macedonia was a region of Greece are all false. The historical truth
is that Greece was inhabited by Greeks, Macedonia by Macedonians.

     Author:

Jacques Bacid, Ph.D. Columbia University, 1983, has taught Slavic
languages, Balkan, and East European history at the University of
Oregon. He writes and lectures on these subjects. Jacques Bacid
is a chairperson of the Illyrian Committee. He is an American
   Croatian.

OK. Let's see Ph.Ds from non Croatian (Tito) origins:

First Ph.D.
-----------

From the probably most respected internationally German
historian of classic times, Malcolm Errington professor at
the University of Marburg, and his english translation
book: "A History of Macedonia", University of California
Press, Los Angeles, 1990, pp. 3-4:

... That the Macedonians and their kings did in fact speak
a dialect of Greek and bore Greek names may be regarded
nowdays as certain. The Macedonian dialect made use of
many loan words from the languages of their Illyrian and
Thracian neighbours, a circumstance that does not surprise
modern philologists but provided ancient opponents of
Macedonia with "proof" that they could not be Greeks.

Second Ph.D
-----------

From the most reputable worldwide British historian of
the ancient Greek period, N. G. L. Hammond, professor in
the University of Bristol, I copy from his book: "The
Macedonian State", Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1989, pp. 12-
15:

The language of the Macedonians

What language did these "Macedones" speak? The name it-
self is Greek in root and in ethnic termination.
...
Hesiod, Persia, and Hellanicus had no motive for making
a false statement about the language of the Macedonians,
who were then an obscure and not a powerful people. Their
independent testimonies should be accepted as conclusive.
Ancient Macedonian was a Greek dialect.

Third Ph.D
----------

From the book: "IN THE SHADOW OF OLYMPUS. THE EMERGENCE OF MACEDON"
Eugene N. Borza. Princeton University Press, Princeton, New Jersey, 1990.

Chapter 4: Who Were the Macedonians?

p 78

We have seen (Chapter 3) that the "MAKEDONES" or
"highlanders" of mountainous western Macedonia may have been derived from
northwest GREEK STOCK. That is, northwest Greece provided a pool of Indo-
European SPEAKERS of PROTO-GREEK from which emerged the tribes who were later
known by different names as they established their regional identities in
separate parts os the country.

And after we finished with the Ph.Ds in Ancient History, let's give a
look to Ph.Ds in Modern History and how is related to the Skopjians:

Macedonian L E A D E R S BEGAN to develop a strong sense of R E G I O- [1]
N A L I D E N T I T Y in the 19th century, but it was not until the
20th century that SOME I N T E L L E C T U A L S BEGAN to A R G U E [2]
that Macedonian Slavs were neither Bulgarian nor Serbian, nor Greek, but
a S E P A R A T E P E O P L E. The C O M M U N I S T party of Yugo- [3]
slavia SUPPORTED THIS IDEA during World War II, and in 1945 a People's
(later Socialist) Republic of Macedonia was established as one of the six
constituent republics of the Federal Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia. A
Macedonian L I T E R A R Y L A N G U A G E was D E V E L O P E D, and
the I D E A of Macedonian N A T I O N A L I T Y was E N C O U R A-

nine years later it acquired jurisdictional independence. Neighboring Bu-
lgaria, which has a Macedonian minority population, initially favored
these developments and from 1944 to 1958 even recognized the existence of
a Macedonian nationality. Since 1958, however, Bulgaria has argued that
all Macedonians are Bulgarians, and this policy contributes to the dis-
cord and tension between Bulgaria and Yugoslavia.

===============================================================================

After all these, let's go back to work.
There is no reason to worry about the
ancient MACEDONIANS; they were ALL GREEK.
And the SKOPJIANS today are ALL SLAVS.
