Note from Ilena Rosenthal: BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO to brave Cathy Gulli and
MacLeans for daring to tell the emerging truths.

May God protect them as the Vac Machine is in full tilt boogie gear to
defend Gardasil ... at any cost and attack anyone of us who asks for
CAUTION!!!!

http:// ilena-rosenthal.blogspot.com:

Update: The adverse reports are over 2200 now and at least 7 deaths
have been reported in the US alone. There appeas to be a link between
having multiple vaccinations at the same time. One of the most serious
"side effects" or "complications" (as industry flacks call them) being
suffered from is Guillain-BarrοΏ½ syndrome.

The morning after Emily Cunningham got a shot of Gardasil, the new
vaccine that protects against four strains of the human papilloma
virus (HPV) that can cause cervical cancer and genital warts, she woke
up with a headache, and neck and back pain. By 9 p.m. that evening in
April, she had a fever so high "you could feel the heat rising from
her a foot away," according to her mother, Laurie. She was delirious
during the night, and the following day couldn't walk without
assistance. Bedridden for nearly a week, the 18-year-old from Wyoming
missed school, and took Tylenol every four hours. "If Emily had been
the only one to get sick we would have said she must have had
something else [like the flu]," explained Laurie, "but we know of
three other students to have reactions, that is why we are concerned."

Emily's story is only one of 1,637 complaints involving Gardasil,
filed as of May to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS),
a national surveillance database sponsored by the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) in the United States. One could discount what
happened to Emily because she had a flu shot that same day, but other
really bad reactions have been reported, including seizures, paralysis
-- and worst of all, three deaths, including one girl who "died of a
blood clot three hours after getting the Gardasil vaccine," reads one
complaint. Elsewhere in the world there have been reports of similar
reactions. In Melbourne, Australia, where a national HPV vaccination
program started in April, 26 girls reportedly fainted and were mildly
paralyzed after getting one shot each.

In almost every instance, the response of medical authorities and
government officials is the same: bad reactions are rare. When they do
occur, there's no evidence that Gardasil was the cause. Arguably, both
points could be true. Some say the problem, however, is that no one
really knows, medically speaking, just how dangerous this vaccine
could be. "Usually at this stage in the life span of a vaccine we
would not have this kind of action," Maclean's has heard from Abby
Lippman, an epidemiologist at McGill University who recently aired her
concerns about the speed with which Gardasil has been adopted in the
Canadian Medical Association Journal. "We're making guesses that it's
going to last long, that [we're immunizing] the right age [of girls],
and that it's effective. We don't have a solid basis for this
thought."

And yet, nearly every province in Canada has, in recent weeks, put
forth some plan to implement an HPV vaccination program that will see
the mass inoculation of an entire generation of girls -- some as soon
as this September -- with no serious acknowledgement of the potential
health risks they might face. While everyone debates the moral and
political consequences of endorsing Gardasil, the fundamental,
essential medical and scientific debate remains untouched. So, in a
few weeks, when thousands of girls concerned about Facebook and who
will be in their class this year -- not HPV -- go back to school, many
will become part of the biggest Canadian science experiment in
decades. They will be the guinea pigs.

MERCK RESPONDS:

Note from Ilena Rosenthal: I wanted to capture this in its entirety
before it got "disappeared." Identical propaganda here on Usenet and
Wikipedia being used.

http://ilena-rosenthal.blogspot.com

His claim about the "placebo" doesn't mention that the placebo also
contained aluminum.

Why was that???

I see identical wording as the PR giants have used for claiming the
safety of unsafe breast implants.

Merck Frosst responds to Maclean's
/NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO UNITED STATES NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR FOR
    DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES/

    MONTREAL, Aug. 20 /CNW Telbec/ - A response based on scientific
facts to
the article on the front page of the August 27 issue of Maclean's was
published, Friday August 17, on the Merck Frosst Web site. To view the
complete response, please visit: www.merckfrosst.ca.
"We are greatly troubled by the apparently biased journalism of
Maclean's. To gamble with the health of millions of Canadian women by
raising
unfounded fears and exaggerating safety concerns about one of the most
extensively tested vaccines is, in my mind, irresponsible," said Dawn
Graham,
President of Merck Frosst Canada Ltd. "There is no question that HPV
affects
many Canadian lives and the tolerability profile of Gardasil(R) is
excellent."

    Impact of HPV in Canada

Three in four (75 per cent) sexually active Canadians will have at
least
one HPV infection episode in their lifetime.(1) HPV infections
annually lead
to approximately 400,000 abnormal Pap smear results(2), 85,000
consultations
due to genital warts and 36,000 new cases of genital warts(3), as well
as
1,400 cervical cancer diagnoses and 400 cervical cancer deaths.(4)
HPV is also linked to other cancers in both men and women, such as
cancer
of the penis, anus, vagina and vulva, as well as loss of female
fertility and
premature ovarian failure.(5) According to the Society of
Obstetricians and
Gynaecologists of Canada, the incidence of cervical cancer is on the
rise in
Canada.(6)

    Comprehensive clinical research program

    Gardasil(R) (Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus (Types 6, 11, 16,
18)
Recombinant Vaccine) clinical data is supported by one of the most
extensive
research programs for a vaccine in terms of number of subjects studied
and
length of evaluation. The vaccine has been studied for over five years
in
clinical trials involving close to 25,000 people in 33 different
countries. So
far 80 countries, including Canada, have approved Gardasil(R) on the
merits of
the scientific data.
In clinical trials the vaccine was shown to be 96 to 100 per cent
effective at preventing infections from the HPV types that cause the
most
clinical diseases: HPV 6, 11, 16 and 18. These HPV types account for
more than
90 per cent of genital warts, approximately 70 per cent of cervical
and
anogenital cancers and high-grade pre-cancers, 35 to 50 per cent of
low-grade
cervical, vaginal and vulvar lesions, and all four types cause
abnormal Pap
test results.(7)
The clinical trials found no increased number of serious adverse
events
in vaccinated subjects compared to placebo. Given that over ten
million doses
of Gardasil(R) have been distributed in the US, many of the reported
adverse
events in that country likely occurred coincidentally following
vaccination.
In particular, the often mentioned Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) is a
naturally occurring event which can lead to paralysis and occurs in
approximately 3 of every 100,000 people each year in the US.(8) To
date, the
rate of GBS reported among people who received the vaccine is
consistent with
what you would expect to see in the population.

    Approved, recommended and endorsed

Gardasil(R) has been approved by Health Canada and recommended by
the
National Advisory Committee on Immunization, a Canadian committee of
recognized experts in the fields of pediatrics, infectious diseases,
immunology, medical microbiology, internal medicine and public health.
The
vaccine has also been endorsed by the Society of Obstetricians and
Gynaecologists of Canada, the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists of
Canada and
the Society of Canadian Colposcopists.
Canada's Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. David Butler-Jones,
recently
acknowledged that "...unfortunately, we tend to only have this debate
when we
are considering prevention measures, despite the fact that history has
repeatedly demonstrated that public health efforts designed to prevent
illness
and death are consistently safer, more effective and less costly than
treatment."(9)

MERCK'S GARDASIL VACCINE NOT PROVEN SAFE FOR LITTLE GIRLS
National Vaccine Information Center Criticizes

EXCERPT: "Merck and the FDA have not been completely honest with the
people about the pre-licensure clinical trials," said NVIC president
Barbara Loe Fisher. "Merck's pre and post-licensure marketing strategy
has positioned mass use of this vaccine by pre-teens as a morality
play in order to avoid talking about the flawed science they used to
get it licensed. This is not just about teenagers having sex, it is
also about whether Gardasil has been proven safe and effective for
little girls."

The FDA allowed Merck to use a potentially reactive aluminum
containing placebo as a control for most trial participants, rather
than a non-reactive saline solution placebo.[1] A reactive placebo can
artificially increase the appearance of safety of an experimental drug
or vaccine in a clinical trial. Gardasil contains 225 mcg of aluminum
and, although aluminum adjuvants have been used in vaccines for
decades, they were never tested for safety in clinical trials. Merck
and the FDA did not disclose how much aluminum was in the placebo.[2]

Animal and human studies have shown that aluminum can cause nerve cell
death [3] and that vaccine aluminum adjuvants can allow aluminum to
enter the brain, [4 5] as well as cause inflammation at the injection
site leading to chronic joint and muscle pain and fatigue. [6 7]
Nearly 90 percent of Gardasil recipients and 85 percent of aluminum
placebo recipients followed-up for safety reported one or more adverse
events within 15 days of vaccination, particularly at the injection
site.[8] Pain and swelling at injection site occurred in approximately
83 percent of Gardasil and 73 percent of aluminum placebo recipients.
About 60 percent of those who got Gardasil or the aluminum placebo had
systemic adverse events including headache, fever, nausea, dizziness,
vomiting, diarrhea, myalgia. [9 10] Gardasil recipients had more
serious adverse events such as headache, gastroenteritis,
appendicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, asthma, bronchospasm and
arthritis.

"Merck and the FDA do not reveal in public documents exactly how many
9 to 15 year old girls were in the clinical trials, how many of them
received hepatitis B vaccine and Gardasil simultaneously, and how many
of them had serious adverse events after being injected with Gardasil
or the aluminum placebo. For example, if there were less than 1,000
little girls actually injected with three doses of Gardasil, it is
important to know how many had serious adverse events and how long
they were followed for chronic health problems, such as juvenile
arthritis."

According to the Merck product manufacturer insert, there was 1 case
of juvenile arthritis, 2 cases of rheumatoid arthritis, 5 cases of
arthritis, and 1 case of reactive arthritis out of 11,813 Gardasil
recipients plus 1 case of lupus and 2 cases of arthritis out of 9,701
participants primarily receiving an aluminum containing placebo.
Clinical trial investigators dismissed most of the 102 Gardasil and
placebo associated serious adverse events, including 17 deaths, that
occurred in the clinical trials as unrelated.

MERCK'S GARDASIL VACCINE NOT PROVEN SAFE FOR LITTLE GIRLS
National Vaccine Information Center Criticizes
FDA for Fast Tracking Licensure

Washington, D.C. - The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) is
calling on the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices
(ACIP) to just say "no" on June 29 to recommending "universal use" of
Merck's Gardasil vaccine in all pre-adolescent girls. NVIC maintains
that Merck's clinical trials did not prove the human papillomavirus
(HPV) vaccine designed to prevent cervical cancer and genital warts is
safe to give to young girls.

"Merck and the FDA have not been completely honest with the people
about the pre-licensure clinical trials," said NVIC president Barbara

participants primarily receiving an aluminum containing placebo.
Clinical trial investigators dismissed most of the 102 Gardasil and
placebo associated serious adverse events, including 17 deaths, that
occurred in the clinical trials as unrelated.

"There is too little long term safety and efficacy data, especially in
young girls, and too little labeling information on contraindications
for the CDC to recommend Gardasil for universal use, which is a signal
for states to mandate it," said Fisher. "Nobody at Merck, the CDC or
FDA know if the injection of Gardasil into all pre-teen girls -
especially simultaneously with hepatitis B vaccine - will make some of
them more likely to develop arthritis or other inflammatory autoimmune
and brain disorders as teenagers and adults. With cervical cancer
causing about one percent of all cancer deaths in American women due
to routine pap screening, it was inappropriate for the FDA to fast
track Gardasil. It is way too early to direct all young girls to get
three doses of a vaccine that has not been proven safe or effective in
their age group."

The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), founded in 1982 by
parents of vaccine injured children, has been a leading critic of
one-size-fits-all mass vaccination policies and the lack of basic
science research into biological mechanisms and high risk factors for
vaccine-induced brain and immune system dysfunction. As a member of
the FDA Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee
(VRBPAC), Barbara Loe Fisher urged trials include adequate safety data
on pre-adolescent children and warned against fast tracking Gardasil
at the November 28-29, 2001 VRBPAC meeting .[11]

or vaccine in a clinical trial.

Coleah ... you old pushy arrogant nasty broad . You follow me all
other the internet, have hired PI's to stalk me etc.

I profit from knowing I have helped untold numbers of women harmed by
breast implants ...

and will profit from knowing that parents look at the facts before
allowing their children to be vaccinated with this potentially deadly
Gardasil because of my postings.

Being an advocate and activist has cost me mightily in dollars ... yet
I remain true to my missions. I have made thousands of wonderful
friends .. despite your years of efforts to harm my reputation.

You, on the other hand, are in this to destroy me ... and it is
backfiring onto you.

You out-weigh me, out-age me, and are far richer in $$$$$$ ...but your
industry ties are ill conceived for any but the most greedy and
selfish and most low and base and ugly of purposes.

You, Coleah Penley Ayers, a loudmouth mouth for hire (or rent or even
for free sometimes) made this 'unbiased' comment about Ms Fisher, as
if you are now trying to discredit her too.

A+ on getting the nasty strategy of Quackwatch to disparage anyone
they disagree with down pat!

Cast doubt.
Use 'quote marks'.
Question their motives.

>You are quoting from a non-profit website and a woman 'protester against vaccinations'.

Yes, this one.
http://www.nvic.org/

Ms Fisher has done an outstanding job in raising vaccine risk
awareness.

Concurrently, Penley Ayers has been running around like an old nutcase
on YOUR CAMPAIGN" I hate Ilena Rosenthal and You Should Too!"

Such noble work.

How proud you must be. Head of the SBIPrivateClub.

BTW, on the lie about the vibrating vagina, Coleah, was this your own
work, or did someone feed you this lie and you posted it on his behalf
and then got caught looking like an idiot?

I hope that everyone will take a look at this excellent website and
pray for the safety of Ms Fisher & her family ... especially now that
Marine for hire Coleah Penley Ayers has begun a process to discredit
her ... the first small step to harm someone used by public relations
teams.

Coleah & Myrl ... how many more years of your mutual lives are you
going to spend trying to destroy me?

How many more of your flacks are going to devote their lives to
harming mine???

You will not be victorious because your cause is hate-based and evil
to the bone.
