With all this news about the Balkans and Somalia, I find it surpising that no news coverage has been given to India and Afghanistan. In Kabul, they are no longer keeping track of the bodies as warring factions tear what little is left of the country apart. The headline of an article in today's San Francisco Examiner, reads "India's Hindus, Muslims ready for a holy war." A potential holy war in the second largest country in the world would normally be considered a big story. This was on page 12. -Garrett

In article <1992Dec16.020007.26534@pony.Ingres.COM>, garrett@Ingres.COM (REACH OUT AND GREP SOMEONE) writes... >reads "India's Hindus, Muslims ready for a holy war." A potential holy >war in the second largest country in the world would normally be considered >a big story. This was on page 12. But you have to factor in the buzz-word aspect. "Holy war" is a convenient phrase, not necessarily related to the real magnitude of the story.
